Miracle Food Delivery
// Charlie DeTellis
We recently received a shipping container of food at our warehouse.
The food is a two-month supply, and the schools picked up their food over a period of two days. We will be purchasing another container of food in the coming weeks that will provide two more months of food for our students. New Missions purchases rice, beans, and cooking oil for the schools.
Our school children in Haiti are thankful for lunch and the provision of food.
The mission also purchases other food staples such as dried herring, sea salt, garlic, and tomato paste. We thank the Lord for this provision. Food is becoming more and more expensive in Haiti with the difficulty of transporting goods. The children are very thankful to eat at school, as it may be the only meal they have all day.
The lunch line is a fun time and your generosity makes this all possible.
A recent delivery of 1,440 sacks of rice will provide two months of food for our schools.
The transportation costs, cooks’ wages, and cooking fuel are also provided by the mission. The school food remains a vital part of our ministry, as a child cannot learn if he is hungry. There is a scarcity of food in Haiti due to the difficulty with customs and gangs in Port-au-Prince. We are always looking for new food contacts. I recently had a successful trip to the U.S., but I’m always excited to return to oversee the affairs of the mission in Haiti. In my absence, our warehouse manager oversaw the distribution of the remaining balance of food. ~Charlie DeTellis
