Haitians on Mission Trips

Five of our New Missions churches have already been on a mission trip in Haiti this summer, with 175 members participating. One more church will go on a trip before school resumes. Thus far, 26 people have accepted Jesus as Savior through these trips. All of this was independently planned, organized, funded, and executed by the Haitian churches.

We need to abide in the vine in order to produce the fruit of the Spirit. I have been feeding my soul with worship music, teaching materials, and I’m also listening to a lot of books. I really feel the need to have written material in front of me in order to meditate upon the truths of God. Yes, I am also reading the Bible. I have the Bible on audio, but still enjoying reading the Bible from an actual hard copy. This way I can highlight certain truths and quickly find these truths again in the future. […]

Accepted

After submitting several college applications, my granddaughter received the word “accepted” from the school of her choice. For a child in a Third World country, the word “accepted” is not often heard. For children in Haiti, there is a lack of schools and teachers. For children in the Dominican Republic, there are limited schools—plus transportation and financial constraints. […]

Our children’s program in Los Castillos has been going strong now for over a year. During the past year, we have seen amazing spiritual growth in the kids. Kindergarten Graduations

This year, each of our New Missions elementary campuses held a kindergarten graduation. In Haiti, the education system begins with two years of preschool followed by kindergarten. Typically, students are five years old when they graduate from kindergarten. The fact that the child has reached his fifth year is significant, and we love to celebrate fifth birthdays in our schools. In Haiti, the mortality rate for children under five has gradually been decreasing—but it’s
