The theme verse for the high school year-end service was Psalm 11:3, “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

It was a service to encourage, console, and challenge students feeling long-term stress over the chaos in their country from the gangs. Students brought their burdens to the Lord during prayer and worship time, and were encouraged to take hold of God’s grace daily. They were reminded to keep their hope in God to help and guide them.

God touched students’ lives at the year-end service while they prayed and worshiped.

One student, Naichka Dauphin, a tenth grader, began trusting God for the first time. She comes from a family that practices Voodoo. At school she used to notice the prayer group during their meeting times. She’d stand nearby so she could watch and hear them. During the end-of-year service she decided to ask for prayer. The preacher and fellow students gathered around and helped her take that most important step of asking Jesus to be her Savior. Naichka plans to attend a church close to her home, and Pastor Sheguer Marc will follow up with her at school.  ~Rachel DeTellis
