Twenty-five Years as Pastor
// Tim DeTellis
When New Missions established a church and school in the downtown area of Leogane, we found an old rum factory and purchased the land.
The process of removing the old building was not difficult. Finding the right pastor and leadership for this new church and school campus has a long history.
Congratulations Pastor Jean Guillaume and his wife Eveque on 25 years of serving at New Missions in Leogane.
In 1987, under an evangelism tent, Pastor Guillaume was leading a revival meeting at our church in Signeau, Haiti. That evening he met my father, Pastor George, and five years later in 1992, Jean Guillaume was hired as a school teacher for our school in Ti-Riviere. He began attending our Bible college in 1998, and upon graduating in the year 2000, he became the pastor and school director of our New Missions campus in Leogane.
The church leadership presented Pastor Jean Guillaume a special award in recognition of his faithful service.
Families of the Leogane church gave gifts and notes of gratitude for 25 years of pastoring.
Pastor Guillaume shared his prayer and gratitude for the church: “My prayer for the church today is a wake-up call for many to come to Jesus and many to make disciples of Jesus. I thank God for New Missions in Leogane and many other places to raise up a nation for Christ. I also thank New Missions for allowing my children to go to school and finish. I now have a child who is a pastor, Guidony Guillaume. Thank you again for allowing many children to go to school in Leogane.” ~Tim DeTellis
