Many Haitians are sacrificial and compassionate, helping others in desperate situations.

I’ve seen them share food, take in orphans, and offer a spot to sleep in an already full home. Raymond Leopold has been a carpenter for 31 years and has served others by hanging doors or making and repairing chairs and tables. Some of our graduates have continued on to nurses training and they are using their skills to serve their community.

Erlande works as a teacher at the Bord-Mer school along with using her nursing skills to help neighbors.

Many times, basic medical needs are unmet and there is no such thing as an organized home health system. Yadioule Nerat, Erlande Charles, and Shekenia Louis are helping to fill that medical need in the villages of Neply and Bire. They often do dressing changes, administer medication, take blood pressures, start IVs, and complete necessary forms for patients. Without their skills and service, some things would be left undone or become more challenging and expensive.

Yadioule is a 2014 New Missions graduate and member of our Bord-Mer church; she's doing a dressing change.

Besides being a carpenter, Raymond is active in our Bord-Mer church and serves as a deacon.

Yadioule feels confident in her skills but also prays for guidance from God. She’s very happy serving her village in this way. Erlande always encourages her patients and sometimes has an opportunity to pray with them. Shekenia senses the presence and help of God as she treats her patients. They each feel an anointing from God and a passion to faithfully serve Him by serving in their communities. ~Rachel DeTellis
