A fine Christian businessman from England came to visit in the Dominican Republic.

He soon purchased a home, and found a lovely woman who was a single mom with a four-year-old boy. The man, David, quickly enrolled the four-year-old boy, Yensi, into our mission school. For 10 years, Yensi heard about Jesus at school, church, and from friends and missionaries. When his stepfather and mother were in England, Yensi lived with our mission directors, Heather and Arismendy Katz. It was at this time, he felt God’s love encouraging him to follow Jesus.  His most important life decision took place in July 2020, saying “yes” to Jesus with Heather and Arismendy in their home.

Prayerfully consider sponsoring a student from the Dominican Republic by visiting newmissions.org/sponsor.

Heather and Arismendy Katz helped Yensi with housing when his stepfather and mother were in England.

A beautiful memory I have of David, the stepfather, and Yensi is seeing them as greeters at New Life Church. Yensi said that after making his decision to be a Christian, he had love for others and a desire to help people. He also started making godly goals for his life.

Yensi Vargas Mojica was sponsored by Jeanne DeTellis Loudon for nine years and now lives in London.

Yensi is now in England in college studying carpentry and joinery. I was drawn to Yensi’s gentle spirit and his sensitivity when I first sponsored him. I thank God for Yensi’s salvation, His provision, and I anticipate God working in Yensi to give him a good future. Child sponsorship just squeezes my heart good. ~Jeanne DeTellis Loudon
