It was a privilege and pleasure to address the crowd of people attending the New Missions 40th Anniversary Celebration in Haiti.

I looked out at the crowd at our large church building on our high school campus where extra benches were placed in the front of the church and all around the outside of the building. It was beautiful as the Haitians were celebrating their faith in God. The motto of our mission, Haiti: Hope in God, will never change. God has done a good thing! I gave testimonies of God’s protection and provision, and also shared a vision of wanting to uncover greater needs in Haiti. I ended by complementing the Haitians themselves. They are the heroes, as they continue to serve in the midst of trials and hardships.

Thank you, Charlie DeTellis, for 40 years of serving in Haiti and empowering the next generation.

Students came to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and we rejoice in the joy found in knowing Jesus.

The Haitians are the ones serving their own people through our churches, schools, and medical clinics. They work every day despite numerous hardships and challenges. My love for the country and people continues to grow. At times, I wondered if God had a different work for me. But my eyes remain focused on Haiti.

Our church in Signeau, Haiti, hosted services to celebrate New Missions, and the attendance was overflowing.

We should never be afraid of the hardships in life. “Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” (Psalm 62:8) It is a privilege and pleasure to serve God in Haiti. ~Charlie DeTellis
