Open the warehouse doors!

Once we fill the warehouse in Haiti, we empty it within a few days. One by one, the trucks back up to be loaded with enough gifts for our students at each school. The journey of a shoebox to a student starts from your home and travels through Orlando. Shoeboxes are packed into cases, then stacked onto pallets, loaded in a cargo container, and finally placed on a ship to travel through the Caribbean to the island of Hispaniola.

Surprise! We had some sneakers arrive with the shipment of 3,298 shoeboxes for Haiti that brought smiles to many.

On February 25th and March 4th we sent two additional cargo containers to Haiti. They had already received a delivery of 3,298 shoeboxes and the Dominican Republic received 4,026 shoeboxes. This was the first time we shipped a cargo container to the DR. Our field director, Heather Williams Katz, was thrilled to have shoebox gifts to give away. Heather said, “It was such a blessing for each of our students to receive a shoebox at Christmas! From the youngest to the oldest, every student was filled with joy as they opened their special gifts. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.”
