The school bus from The Master’s Academy in Oviedo, Florida, pulled into our parking lot.

The students were full of energy and eager to help as they jumped off the bus. Bigger than shoeboxes are the hearts of these students serving to help the students of New Missions receive their shoebox gifts. The Master’s Academy has consistently set new records each year for their entire school’s shoebox collection goal. Last year, they collected 1,300 shoebox gifts!

The school bus from The Master’s Academy arrived with students ready to volunteer.

Our Orlando office staff welcomes volunteers from schools, youth groups, and even families who serve together. The process of inspecting shoeboxes takes an army of volunteers. Each year, nearly 400 people come to serve during our Shoebox Drive season. We insert a tract in all our shoeboxes sharing the Gospel message, plus ensure essential hygiene items are included. A simple bar of soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste are important to the children of Haiti.

Our volunteers represent our theme verse: “We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Each shoebox gift matters because they bless an entire family. For packing ideas visit shoeboxdrive.com.

If you have students who want to host a packing party, simply sign up at www.shoeboxdrive.com. Together, you can collect fun items and pack shoebox gifts for the students of New Missions. Students helping students is a wonderful way to teach about missions and serving others. Our shoebox drive runs until December 31, 2025, so there is plenty of time to organize a student group to pack shoeboxes. ~Tim DeTellis
