Pastor Richard Gay from our Masson church organized a week of services and celebrations for the 40 years the church has impacted the community.

He has spent 35 of those years as their pastor. They thanked God for the vision He gave George and Jeanne DeTellis to start the church, and for God’s faithfulness throughout the 40 years. There was also a forward-looking aspect to the gathering, and the theme was Philippians 3:14, “Let’s press on for the prize!”

Pastor Richard Gay, from our Masson church, with Assistant Pastor Luc Dessange during the week of services and celebrations.

Pastor Gay realizes he’s getting older, and his prayer is that all the young people who’ve grown up under his leadership will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to engage in the work of the Lord. He wants to ensure that batons are passed successfully and new leadership is recognized and appointed. He says after much prayer and consideration, they chose four members to join the church leadership as deacons. These four were prayed over and ordained for their roles. The new deacons will work in the church and community—facilitating church services, programs, home visitation, and outreach. They are serious about pressing on for the prize. ~Rachel DeTellis
