Working Dads
// Tim DeTellis
What’s the job of being a dad?
To build a better future, fathering takes the courage to lead even when facing adversity. Jerry Jean Pierre is working as a dad to provide for and protect his family. His heart as a dad is to see his family follow Jesus. Haiti presents threats to the spiritual well-being of families since Voodoo is still promoted as the religion to follow in the villages they call home. Walking to church with his family, Jerry knows his actions will lead his family by example more than his words. His thoughts are: This is where we are going; let’s worship the King of Kings together.
Fathers who lead their family to church are building a legacy that lasts.
Jerry Jean Pierre works as a 4th grade school teacher in Neply, Haiti, and supports his family.
Jerry Jean Pierre’s prayer for his children is for them to grow up and stay close to God. As the 4th grade teacher at our New Missions school in Neply, Haiti, he values the importance of learning—especially how God is their family’s refuge in a country where it’s truly a privilege to be in school and have employment.
Please pray for our teachers from Neply, Haiti, who faithfully serve their community.
Join us in prayer for the parents of our students. Together, we are partnering with them to help raise a generation of Christian leaders. We are thankful for dads who are working to both provide financially and spiritually for their families. Thank you, dads. ~Tim DeTellis
