Are you thinking about Christmas?
It’s the time of year when our students start thinking about Christmas in hope that their sponsors will remember them with a gift. The last time I handed out Christmas gifts it was also parent-teacher day at school. One mother told her daughter to pick the clear plastic shoebox with three bars of soap. The girl was in tears as her heart wanted a different box with a doll. The mother won. Later that day, I found another box with a doll and brought it to the girl.
From dolls to playing cards and school supplies, our volunteers help pack shoebox gifts for students.

Another blessing of the Christmas shoebox is that our sponsors have the joy of packing their own box for their child. Or, you can purchase a prepacked shoebox from our home office full of fun gifts and the essentials to bless the child and their family.
A special cargo container filled with mission supplies and shoebox gifts was sent to the Dominican Republic. Because of your love and generosity, each student at New Missions will receive a shoebox gift.
The greatest blessing of a Christmas shoebox is not the temporary smile of love and satisfaction in receiving gifts of pleasure and necessity. The blessing for us is that giving the Christmas shoebox provides us an opportunity to tell our students the story of why Jesus came to earth at Christmas. We have the perfect time to invite them to receive the unspeakable gift that will give them joy, peace, and life forever.
