Read Our Prayer Requests

The 41st anniversary of New Missions is on January 6, 2024 and we thank you for praying with us during this year because prayer matters.

Together, may we set our heart’s affection and mind’s attention on God’s purpose and plan for our mission.

HAITI PRAYER REQUESTS
Day 1:

Nation
Pray for the security of the campuses God has entrusted to us and for ongoing wisdom regarding the security issues in Haiti. The lawlessness created by violent gang activity has spread throughout many parts of Haiti (no longer just in Port-au-Prince). Pray for the protection of the Haitians who live with this sense of insecurity.

Day 2:
High School & Student Leaders
Pray for our high school. Pray for an anointing on the director as well as other administration as they establish a peaceful and uplifting environment for learning. Pray that the students would encounter Jesus and choose to follow Him wholeheartedly. Pray that the teachers would teach effectively and the students would be diligent.  Pray for the work of the Lord to advance, and for the work of the enemy (who has come to lie, kill, steal, and destroy) to be bound.  Pray for the student-led prayer group to grow. Pray for the safety of our students, as many have to travel on a very dangerous main road to get to the campus.

Day 3:
Churches
Pray the churches in Haiti would remain vibrant for the Lord. Pray that the trials being faced by all will broaden and strengthen the churches’ influence in their communities. Pray specifically for leaders to have a deepening of maturity, knowledge, and love as they lead. Pray for fresh vision and faith.

Day 4:
Ability to Function
Pray for the following to be available when needed: construction material, maintenance supplies for our campuses, food, and school supplies. Pray for the safe delivery of these items to the mission.

Day 5:
Schools
Pray for our teachers’ ability to impart information, skills, and character to their students. Pray for their spiritual growth and a sense of mission as they work with their students. Pray for health and provision for our teachers and their families.

Day 6:
Students
Pray for our students' formation as individuals.  Pray that each student would come to know the Lord and walk in their faith. Pray for God to move within our schools. Pray that the students would put their hope in the Lord and not be overwhelmed by the current situation in Haiti. Pray for God to show them ways of how they can serve Him and those around them–both now and in the future.

Day 7:
Evangelism and Discipleship
Pray for abundant blessings—both spiritual and physical—on believers throughout our churches. Pray that they would recognize their position of being blessed...and in return be a blessing to others. Pray that evangelism, discipleship, and prayer would increase exponentially. Pray a hedge of protection around our communities and for the Lord to surround the believers with His guardian angels keeping the gangs away. Pray they would be recognized as communities of love, hope, and peace.

DR Prayer Requests
As we turn our attention to our mission in the Dominican Republic. Your prayers matter and we thank you for your faithfulness. Together, we are calling out to God for His provision.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PRAYER REQUESTS Day 8:
Schools
We praise the Lord for the continued spiritual growth of our teachers, staff, and students.  Pray that God will meet the physical, financial, and spiritual needs of our teachers so that they can be focused on reaching more students for Christ.

Day 9:
Churches
Praise the Lord for the many people who have accepted Christ and been baptized in the past year!  Pray for their spiritual growth as well as the growth of our churches.  Pray for the unity of our church leaders.

Day 10:
Spiritual growth of the next generation
We praise the Lord for the new youth group that has started meeting at our church in Playa Laguna!  Pray that the leaders of our youth and children will have strength and endurance to guide the next generation into a deeper walk with Christ.

Day 11:
Clinic
We thank the Lord that we are able to provide free medical care for the people of Sosua and surrounding communities.  Many patients travel long distances to come to our health center because of the care and compassion they receive.  Pray that God will continue to use us to reach people who are suffering and are in need of medical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Day 12:
Government
With elections coming up this year, politicians are actively campaigning.  Pray that God will raise up leaders who want to do the right thing and are not afraid to take a stand for their beliefs.  Pray for the safety of these politicians as many have lost their lives trying to do the right thing.  Pray for the safety of the people as they go to vote.

Day 13:
Healing for Hispaniola
Tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic are high as the government has ramped up deportations of Haitians as part of their political campaign.  Pray for healing of the relationship between these two countries and that God will soften the hearts of the Dominicans and open their eyes to the racism that exists in this country.  Pray that the governments from both countries will work together to increase the standard of living for Haitians and Dominicans.

Day 14:
Mission Teams
We have many teams scheduled to come this year.  Pray for their safety and that God would use them to bring more souls to Christ.

United States Home Office Prayer Requests
We want to express our gratitude for your prayers and support. Most importantly, this is a spiritual work we are called to. We pray God uses us to make a difference for eternity's sake.

HOME OFFICE PRAYER REQUESTS
Day 15:

Federal, state and local leadership
We need peace in America and peace comes from knowing Jesus. Please pray for all areas of government in the United States, “that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:2

Day 16:
Churches everywhere
Pray for local churches and their leadership serving communities and families. We pray for the faithfulness of church members and provision for the Gospel to be proclaimed. When local churches are healthy, communities and families flourish.

Day 17:
Home office team of New Missions
Daily, our home office team is ready to serve our donors and sponsors. Plus, we are dedicated to the vision of helping families flourish across Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Pray for our health, provision, and focus to encourage all whom God entrusts to us.

Day 18:
Donors and sponsors
Please pray for the provision of financial support received from our donors and sponsors as they give generously to fund our mission. We believe generosity changes lives and pray for their hearts to be filled with blessings from above.

Day 19:
Volunteers and advocates
Our mission is too big to accomplish alone. We rely on volunteers at our home office and advocates who represent us through their local churches. Please pray for the nearly 500 volunteers who help make this mission possible. “There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” Acts 20:35b

Day 20:
Campaigns and events
Pray for the success of our campaigns and events. Laugh All Night, Shoebox Drive, speaking engagements, and conferences are all a part of our work here in the States.

Day 21:
God’s favor and wisdom
Prayer matters and we are seeking God’s wisdom in all we do. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17 This is God’s mission and to God be the glory!
