Mother's and Father's Day

The children and teachers at our schools in the Dominican Republic recently hosted a special event to honor their parents. In a country that generally focuses more on the importance of mothers, our school director, Gloria, saw the need to honor fathers, too. Because Father’s Day is during the summer when school is out, fathers often go without any recognition. So, three years ago, we began honoring fathers at the same time as mothers. We are teaching our students the Biblical commandment to honor their father and mother.
