Today is the first full-day in the wake of hurricane Matthew hitting Haiti as a category 4 storm. Village paths have turned into rivers. It will take time for families to clean out of this mess.

Our pastors and school directors at each New Missions Christian Academy campus are evaluating their buildings so we can re-open schools as soon as possible.

We are thankful to report we have no loss of life from our schools and churches. Your prayers made a difference and we thank you.

Here is our latest hurricane Matthew video update with footage from Haiti:

The largest river near our mission is the Momance River, in Brache. Thankfully, it did not breach its banks, but flooding has eroded a large portion of the main road. Our primary mission campus in Bord-Mer and high school campus have no reported damage.

This weekend, our churches will meet to give thanks and pray for the continued clean up and repairs following this hurricane.

We have these ways you can help Haiti now:
1. Donate newmissions.org/help
2. Pack shoebox gifts ShoeboxDrive.com
3. Collect pairs of new sneakers GiveSneakers.com
4. Send new pillows, blankets, and sheets to:
New Missions, 2500 Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32809

Thanks for your ongoing prayers.

Tim DeTellis
President, New Missions
