After the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, many people turned to the Lord, and in response we had our first Baptism Festival.

Now, it’s an annual event. New Missions churches gather to celebrate changed lives as new believers publicly identify with Christ.

This year, 31 individuals from eight churches were baptized at Bossier, one of our coastal church locations. The day was filled with worship, fellowship, and joyful celebration as a marching band led the congregation from the church to the ocean for the baptisms.

After a service at our Bossier church, attendees made their way to the beach for baptisms.

Especially encouraging were the testimonies of four New Missions students who came from Christian families. Their stories were powerful reminders of the importance of faithful churches and parents who consistently bring their children to hear the Word of God. Through church services, revival meetings and prayer, these young people came to personally trust Christ as their Savior.

One student shared how God replaced depression with joy. Another testified that God transformed the way she speaks and treats others. A young man, Kenn Orvens Joseph, told how God delivered him from demonic possession after prayer at church, while another praised God for healing in her life.

These testimonies are evidence that God is continuing to work through our churches and the influence of Christian families. ~Rachel DeTellis
