I witnessed a great, life-changing love with the Christmas Shoebox Drive. Having just returned from Haiti, my time at the shoebox center was all the more meaningful. I would meet people coming to drop off their boxes, and was amazed by the generosity and love poured out to children whom most donors may never know. [...]

Pastor Jean Rigal Alcidas from our Lassale church came up to me and shared some shocking news. People from his village were telling him they are still a Voodoo village and that the church will stop growing. Seldom do our churches have direct opposition from those practicing Voodoo. Pastor Jean Rigal was hosting evangelism meetings [...]

We don’t need one more building for the sake of having just another building. But, we do need it for the sake of a soul. Since our first week in Haiti, we have been in construction. Today, we continue to build buildings because of the ministry of hope that happens. I remember standing at our [...]

In my neighborhood there was a Bank of America on the corner near our local shopping plaza. When the recession started in 2009 they closed the bank and the building was left empty. New Missions is now working in locations beyond the Leogane Plain—pushing out further to touch more lives. We have begun working along the road heading toward Jacmel. Let’s change lives together. What could be the one thing, outside of the Gospel, that could bring a new opportunity to the life of someone in Haiti? The game changer is learning English, which opens wide the door to their future and provides opportunity for advancement. When the U.S. military arrived at New Missions after [...]

Where we are today is because of something done yesterday. Jesus knew it was He who sent Him that merited the glory. In John 8:54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the One who glorifies me.” Jesus came because of who sent [...]

As we approach the Christmas season, I started thinking of the meaning of the season. My life is full. I love my family, sports and working. I love life! However, we are often reminded how fragile and temporal life can be. We can have a heaviness of heart, especially during the holidays. John 14:1-4 reminds [...]

When a child arrives at New Missions, they are among the fortunate. Just the fact that they wake up, bathe, and dress for school makes their life better than 50% of the children in Haiti who have no school to go to. The simple encouragement of wearing a school uniform shapes the child’s perspective for [...]
